The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Thursday's Best NCAAB Bet

St. Mary’s Gaels at Gonzaga Bulldogs (-2.5, 150)

After an 89-70 loss to Vanderbilt in Tennessee, St. Mary’s coach Randy Bennett didn’t mince words about his team’s poor play.

“We need to be more mentally tough on the road,” he said. “We can't play the same on the road as we do at home. Our next two on the road will be tough and we need to learn."

Despite a 3-2 true road record, the team must be much tougher to win at Gonzaga. The Gaels have beaten the Bulldogs just three times in the team’s past 10 meetings, but one of those was an 81-62 win by the Gaels last March in Spokane.

In that win over Gonzaga, the Gaels were led by star guard Mickey McConnell, who had 26 points, six assists, four steals and only one turnover. This season, he is averaging 14.6 points and 6.5 assists per game – and has cracked double figures in scoring in nine of his past 10.

The Gaels also forced 23 turnovers by the Commodores, but committed a staggering 25 fouls, were outrebounded 37-19 and let the hosts make 52 percent of their shots. But those flaws can be overcome against Gonzaga – the Bulldogs are just plus-2 in rebound margin over their past two games – West Coast Conference losses to Santa Clara and San Francisco – and made 45 percent of their shots in two wide-open games, around 3 percent less than their season average.

Pick: St. Mary’s

PICK 'N' ROLL

Thursday's Best NBA Bet

Houston Rockets at Dallas Mavericks (-5.5, 204)

Don’t call the Dallas Mavericks soft. The team demonstrated its newfound toughness in a 112-105 comeback win over the Clippers. Whether it was Brendan Haywood picking up a flagrant foul on Blake Griffin attacking the rim or coach Rick Carlisle picking up a technical foul for going after Clippers guard Baron Davis elbowing guard J.J. Barea, the Mavs wouldn’t back down.

This newfound spunk is apparent in the team’s defense, as Dallas is giving up the 6th fewest points in the league (94.4) and has the 11th best field goal defense (44.9). Against Los Angeles, Carlisle trusted his team to aggressively shut down Griffin and clog up the Clippers offense.

“The second half, we decided to allow our players to read those situations and decide when the right time to go was and wasn’t,” Carlisle said. “It’s very difficult with a player who’s that willing to pass. If you just go run at him, he’s going to throw darts and they’re going to hit threes, simple as that. The second half our guys did a good job of changing it up.”

Houston does bring the league’s fourth-best offense – averaging 105.5 points per game -- but don’t expect the Rockets to throw anything at Dallas they aren’t ready for. The Mavericks won the team’s earlier meeting, 101-91 and stopped the Houston attack cold.

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Thursday's wagering tips

Injuries to remember

Reeves Nelson, Joshua Smith, UCLA Bruins – The Bruins could be without two major parts of their frontcourt Thursday against the Arizona Wildcats. Nelson leads the team averaging 13.9 points and eight rebounds per game, but sprained his ankle Saturday against Stanford, while Smith missed that game with a suspected concussion. Nelson was in a walking boot and both players were limited in Tuesday’s practice. UCLA needs all the help it can get against 6-foot-8 forward Derrick Williams, who is averaging 19.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Arizona is currently pegged as an 8-point favorite.

Key trends

NBA: The Miami Heat have covered in five of their last six meetings with the New York Knicks, but couldn’t get their supporters to the pay window the last time the two clubs went head-to-head. Miami won that game 106-98 as an 8.5-favorite. The Heat have held New York to fewer than 100 points in five straight matchups.

NBA: Dallas has covered the number in just two of its last 10 games. The Mavs lost six straight games outright before rebounding to win three of their last four, covering twice.

NBA: The Celtics have covered in only two of their last six games, but have had success against the Portland Trail Blazers. Boston, which has allowed 100 points only once over the last six games, has covered in nine of its last 12 meetings with Portland.

NCAAB: Indiana is riding a 3-7 ATS skid and has won just once in the last nine games heading into Thursday’s game with Illinois. The Hoosiers, who average 74.5 points on the season, have been held to fewer than 70 points in six of those last nine games. Indiana is set as an early 4-point underdog.

NCAAB: Utah State has covered in just three of its last 12 meetings with San Jose State. The Aggies, who haven’t lost since a Dec. 4 defeat against Georgetown, are pegged as 9-point favorites for Thursday’s game.

Notes and tips

Kendrick Perkins returned to the lineup for the first time since tearing his ACL in last season’s finals in Boston’s win over the Cavs on Tuesday. He chipped in seven points, six rebounds and three assists in 18 minutes of play and Boston may have to lean on him more in the coming games with Shaq and Jermaine O’Neal sidelined. "(Perkins) coming back has a great symbolism to it," guard Ray Allen told the Celtics' official website. "We know what we are trying to get back to."

The Dallas Mavericks are anxious to get Peja Stojakovic on the floor, but realized they may have to be patient with the veteran after putting him through some workouts. Stojakovic was limited in Wednesday’s workout and is considered doubtful for Dallas’ game against Houston on Thursday. "We all know what he did in this league - he's one of the best shooters ever," forward Dirk Nowitzki told reporters. "He's definitely one of the best shooters in this league and he's going to spread the floor for us.” Dallas, which is set as a 5.5-point favorite on Thursday, is hitting just 36.1 percent of its trey attempts.

Duke’s Nolan Smith is on pace to become the first player in ACC history to lead the conference in both scoring and assists. Right now he’s averaging 20 points and 5.6 assists per game for the No. 4-ranked Blue Devils’ offense. Smith has taken control since Kyrie Irving was hurt early last month and the rest of the offense is benefiting as he opens up space for everyone else on the floor. Duke opened as a 17-point favorite at home against Boston College on Thursday.
